The facility?s management team implemented a lighting retrofit and set rooftop make-up air units to a set point of 55 degrees. The team identified five 24-hour rooftop exhaust fans and installed time clocks to regulate and reduce electric usage. The facility also has an up-to-date HVAC direct digital control system to control heating, cooling, and the related central plant. This system orchestrates the morning start-up of all 53 heat pumps so they don't turn on at the same time, thus reducing the facility?s demand load. Lastly, building management has prohibited the use of portable electric heaters, a rule which is strictly enforced.
