Pathways' facility is a rehabilitated grocery store containing 75 percent recycled content. The facility is a demonstration project for green commercial building on an affordable budget within an economically distressed city. Pathways? facility includes a rooftop garden, rain garden, rain harvesting system, and permeable paving. Construction of the building included hundreds of volunteers and also provided a training opportunity for workforce development students. The facility houses programs related to workforce development, youth development, and community organizing, in addition to a free specialty clinic.
