Built in 1999, the facility at 5950 Sherry Lane is a nine-story building located in the Preston Center submarket in Dallas, Texas. Achieving ENERGY STAR certification and superior energy performance several years in a row, 5950 Sherry Lane entered the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). All operations and maintenance practices were revised in 2011 and include: green cleaning, integrated pest control, green construction, recycling (paper, plastics, metals, light bulbs, ballasts, batteries, toner, electronics, etc.), reduced mercury content, increased outside air intake, green landscaping, and cooling tower management. The engineering staff members have always made energy savings a top priority at 5950 Sherry Lane.
The HVAC system consists of two 250-ton McQuay Chillers controlled by a Barber Coleman Siebe network 8000 energy management system (EMS). Additionally, the following improvements have been completed:

-- All urinals have been changed to water saver .5 GPF
-- Merv 13 filters were installed at filter bays
-- Merv 13 pre-filters were installed
The building engineer continually monitors the EMS to ensure continued energy savings during seasonal temperature changes. The economizer mode is programmed to allow the most efficient free cooling/heating possible.
