Westway III is a three-story, Class A office building located in Houston, Texas. An important factor in Westway III’s energy efficiency is the building HVAC system, which uses Under Floor Air Distribution (UFAD). The basic air conditioning system is composed of one self-contained, air-cooled rooftop air conditioning per wing per floor (six units total for the building). UFAD moves air in the same direction as thermal lift, thereby using less energy because the air does not need to be as cold to achieve the proper cooling temperature.
