Sycamore Plaza I is located in the northern region of California, which has been experiencing a severe drought since 2011. The most important tactic the team has pursued has been reduction of water use. In order to accomplish this goal, water for landscaping has been reduced to two times per week and all interior faucets and urinals have had automatic valves installed. Water use was reduced by 15 percent in 2015 compared to the budget for 2014. During 2015, Sycamore Plaza I is looking to reduce water use even further. In addition to water efficiency improvements, property management also made lighting improvements to improve energy efficiency.
