The Pacific Tower is
a 14-story, 304,000-square-foot office building located on
Beacon Hill above the International District in Seattle,
Washington. The building is owned by the Pacific Hosptial
Preservation and Development Authority and managed by Jones Lang
LaSalle. the building was refurbished in 1999 for the Amazon
Headquarters. Originally used as a U.S. Marine hospital, an
addition consistent with the 1930's
architecture was completed on the North side of the building to
expand available floor space.
Tenant
amenities include two separated parking garages, allowing for
over 500 cars. The building features grand views of the South of
Downtown Seattle on one side, with views of Mt. Rainier and the
Rainier Valley on the other, along with almost 9.5 acres of
private park including lawns and dozens of trees, a large
cafeteria, and a medical facility--all inside a historic
cast-iron fence.
Upgrades to
the original HVAC include 37 air handlers serving a variable air
volume (VAV) system, removal of the old steam boilers and
radiators, and installation of a direct digital control (DDC)
system that manages HVAC and lighting. Exterior decorative
lighting is controlled by timer and analog lighting sensors. The
building has antique operable windows, motion sensors for office
lighting, independent HVAC for data center cooling, and a
central chiller plant to serve the air handlers.
