At 392 feet tall, 33 Arch Street is currently ranked the 20th tallest building in Boston and is the most recently completed skyscraper in the city. The building is constructed of granite with an aluminum and glass façade and stands 33 stories tall with an aluminum and glass façade and stands 33 stories tall with 648,403sf. Twelve floors above grade, the structure extends horizontally over the adjacent retail space, adding over 4,000sf to each remaining floor. The result is an inventive glass building that successfully utilizes its tight downtown footprint. In addition, its convenience to public transportation is unparalleled with access to four lines of the MBTA and its central downtown location. In 2010, 33 Arch Street was awarded LEED Gold certification for operations and maintenance by the U.S. Green Building Council

33 Arch Street’s commitment to achieving efficient energy management is evident in the extensive HVAC upgrades and lighting retrofits completed at the property. The building utilizes an Invensys HVAC Energy Management System. The system controls the schedules of the HVAC equipment and also maintains control set points, free cooling set points and various pump and fan schedules. The EMS system is equipped with an optimal stop and start program which takes into account each floors temperature as well as the outside air temperature. Based on stored information and floor history, the system will automatically calculate the optimal start and stop time necessary to maintain the most comfortable floor temperatures.
