333 Bush Street is a 43-story combination use, commercial and private
residential property, located in the heart of San Francisco's
Financial District. The ENERGY STAR certification is applicable only
to the commercial portion of the building, consisting of 30 floors of
approximately 542,000 square feet of office and retail space. The
building facade consists of spandrel and column panels of polished
rose-colored granite highlighted by red accents of Taivaisolo granite
from Finland. Designed by Skidmore Owens & Merrill, the building
was completed and occupied in early 1986.
Energy conservation measures at 333 Bush Street include: T-8
Lamps with electronic ballast, 2-watt LED exit signs, occupancy
sensors, carbon monoxide sensors, compact florescent lamps in place of
incandescent, and VFD driven fans, pumps and chillers. The Engineering
Department has made significant annual strides (20% or more in reduced
energy usage) in reducing peak demand loads by improving equipment
maintenance, utility logs, continual fine tuning of the building's
energy management system and improved engineering practices.
