Alpha Controls & Service is a single floor office building located in Rockford Illinois. Our 5,001 square foot facility was built in 1960 as an ancillary facility to support the office needs of the engineering and field service technicians. Alpha Controls & Services owns and manages the building.
Lighting: In 2010, we retrofitted the existing fluorescent inlay fixtures with T-8 high efficiency lamps, electronic ballast, and reflectors. We were able to de-lamp each fixture utilizing 2 T-8 lamps providing the same light levels as 4 T-8 lamps. Motion sensors were installed in parts of the building to turn off the lighting when the area was not occupied. LED lighting was installed outdoors under the building overhangs. U-tube and 2' fluorescent light were removed and night lights fixtures were retro fitted with 2' LED tube lights. This was done in house.
Energy Management Control System (ABS): An energy management control system was installed providing remote access and schedules capabilities. The system will allow the room set point to be lower during winter months and higher during the summer months when the offices are not occupied, weekends and holidays. Variable frequency drives were installed on HVAC fans which are controls by Co2 space sensors providing additional energy savings. This work was completed by in house personal.
