Nestled alongside a tranquil country pond, 500 Cummings Center completes the award-winning 71-acre Cummings Center campus. The site of the former United Shoe Machinery foundry, a 1998 top-to-bottom restoration transformed the property from a brownfield site into a thriving office park.


The original design for 500 Cummings Center included many green features, including high efficiency lighting and water source heat pumps; multiple individually controlled heating and cooling zones with both heating and cooling available year round; operable windows for fresh air ventilation; high quality glass to keep the building cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter; and high efficiency motors and variable frequency drives on the building?s loop pumps and cooling tower fan.


National Grid, the building?s electric and gas utility provider, helped to maximize the building?s efficiency and obtain efficiency incentives. After a waiting period, during which the necessary application data was gathered, 500 Cummings Center received the ENERGY STAR.


Among the building?s many attractive features are curved ribbon windows, a six-story vaulted atrium, 50,000-square-foot floors, pond views, a walking trail, and on-site garage parking. Additionally, the building?s open floor plan allows tenants great flexibility in designing custom layouts, optimally utilizing the expertise of 500 Cummings Center?s in-house design and construction teams.


Cummings Center offers an unsurpassed array of on-site amenities, including seven eateries, a 12,000-square-foot fitness club (located next door), a U.S. Post Office, two full-service banks, Bright Horizons child care, salons, a dry cleaner, attorneys, CPAs, insurance agents, mortgage brokers, and computer sales and service, as well as medical, dental, and other specialized medical services. Clients also have a choice of several high-speed internet and telephone providers.


Occupants at 500 Cummings Center include Merrill Lynch, New England Academy, Keller Williams, and Life Technologies. Beverly Hospital, located just minutes away, also has a large presence at 500 Cummings Center, currently occupying 25,000 square feet on the building?s sixth floor.


Just one mile from Route 128, ?America?s Technology Highway,? Cummings Center is a 25-minute drive from downtown Boston and Logan International Airport. 500 Cummings Center and its environs offer the accessibility and quality of life for which the North Shore is renowned.
