The 222 West Hubbard Building is a more than 66,000-square-foot loft building. The facility is home to the award-winning Roche Bubois showroom in the heart of Chicago's River North neighborhood, which is surrounded by hundreds of creative businesses and showrooms. The property is convenient to many of the city's most famous restaurants and art galleries, and is easily accessible to both the interstate and public transportation.
222 West Hubbard is managed and leased by Urban Innovations (UI), a fully integrated real estate investment firm. Built in 1905, this loft building features exposed brick walls and timber columns, 11-13-foot ceilings, and tenant-controlled HVAC systems. The building underwent a major strategic capital renovation in 2008 that included replacing the roof, select windows, and air handling units (AHUs), and upgrading to a Honeywell Tridium Direct Digital Control (DDC) system. Property management is currently pursuing LEED Core and Shell certification for the facility.
Urban Innovations also encourages tenants to incorporate sustainable practices into their business operations. In 2010, Urban Innovations launched a tenant engagement and education campaign, UI Change It Up, to inspire environmentally responsible improvements in the areas of energy conservation, waste reduction, cleaning, transportation choices, and outreach. Urban Innovations also participated in the year-long Chicago Green Office Challenge and held monthly tenant education meetings about the fundamentals of sustainability.
