The main barriers with school districts are financial restrictions.  The district has a limited capital budget to function every fiscal year.  It is usually impossible to roll out a large captial project without requesting for every possible aid that is available, which could be a long-winded process.  Johnson Control's ability to take that burden off the districts shoulder and offer them financing options is a viable solution to the school board.  The financing cost is a limited dollar amount that they can allocate into their fiscal year budget.  Most of the time the savings achieved usually pays for the cost.

Aricle in local newspapers, Smithtown News and The Times, about the ENERGY STAR label award.

"The district's commitment to saving energy and money has resulted in reducing our energy costs and providing a better learning environment for children."
-- Mr. Joseph E. Piro, Plant Facilities Administrator, Smithtown Central School District
