The McCain Othello Plant is located in Othello, Washington.  The plant was originally owned by Chef Ready (P. J. Taggares), who commissioned the plant in 1963.

In April 1, 1988, McCain Foods purchased Chef Ready Foods.  Two years later, the plant underwent a major expansion which doubled its production capacity.  The plant was expanded again in 1997 when the Research and Development facility was built.

The Othello Plant produces quality frozen potato products for many regional specialty chains.

 
Over the years McCain has implemented several energy improvement projects involving heat or electrical reduction, including boiler controls, process efficiency upgrades, efficient lighting, water reduction efforts, and environmental attributes of our energy reduction - greenhouse gas reduction/CO2 reduction.  The Othello Plant also implemented an efficient motor energy management program.

The Othello Plant earned the ENERGY STAR for the first time in 2009.
