The Portland VAMC consists of two campuses located in Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. Known as a teaching hospital, the Portland VA Medical Center provides a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology, education, and research. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, tertiary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics, and extended care. In addition to the primary mission to honor America's veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being, PVAMC has also committed to being a leader in environmental performance. Through the establishment and implementation of a Green Environmental Management System (GEMS), the medical center has begun to integrate environmental practices into the overall management of the organization.
