PACAF Elmendorf AFB

Take the ENERGY STAR Pledge

Elmendorf Air Force Base, adjacent to the city of Anchorage, is the largest Air Force installation in Alaska and home of the Headquarters, Alaskan Command (ALCOM), Alaskan NORAD Region (ANR), 11th Air Force (11 AF) and the 3rd Wing (3 WG). We are part of the PACAF MAJCOM. We host a wide variety of aircraft, including F-22s, F-15s, AWACS, and C-17s. We have about 8,000 paid employees, military and civilian; approximately 2,000 privatized family housing units; nine dorms; 13,441 acres; and 423 buildings. By the end of FY09 we are on target to have replaced 10,500 lighting fixtures since FY07, primarily hibay HPS to T8s, and office lighting T12 to T8 systems. We still have more HPS and T12 systems to replace, and we're just starting our LED exterior lighting program. While we certainly need to replace our remaining incandescents, at Elmendorf at this point we have relatively few.
