Moody Air Force Base is located northeast of the city Valdosta, GA. The 23rd Wing consists of six groups and one detachment with more than 5,500 military and civilian personnel at four locations throughout the continental U.S. The wing has units at Moody, Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, Nellis AFB, Nevada, and MacDill AFB, Florida. USAF's premier wing providing combat ready A-10C, HH-60G, HC-130P aircraft and Guardian Angel pararescue forces conducting close-air support, forward air control, interdiction, combat search and rescue and force protection. Executes worldwide operations in support of humanitarian interests, US national security and the GWOT. Moody is the home of the Air Force's legendary "Flying Tigers".
