Mississippi Development Authority, Energy Division
Established in 1980, the Energy Division is vested with public missions that fundamentally affect the economic prosperity and quality of life of present and future Mississippians. These missions include developing and implementing effective plans and programs that utilize environmentally acceptable, dependable and affordable energy resources. These programs increase the opportunities for Mississippi communities to improve their relative position in the global economy. Through its programs and activities, the Energy Division promotes the efficient and environmentally acceptable use of energy in all sectors of the State's economy. The Energy Division also encourages an environment that enhances the State's access to cost competitive, available energy resources, ultimately benefiting economic development in Mississippi.
