Hapeville Elementary School opened as Hapeville High School in 1939. That school was closed in 1988, completely renovated, and reopened in August 1991 as Hapeville Elementary School, a two-story building with 52 classrooms. The mechanical system now has water source heat pumps for classroom areas and gas heat/air cooled roof top units for assembly areas. The school has a robust direct digital control building automation system by Automated Logic Corporation. The school is on a 12-acre campus in the City of Hapeville.
