Brookview Elementary School opened in 1972 and received classroom additions in 1973 and 1988. In 2009 the building mechanical systems were overhauled and converted to water source heat pumps for the 52 classrooms, with outside air pretreated by energy recovery units and gas heat/air cooled roof top units for assembly and office areas. The school has a robust direct digital control building automation system by Automated Logic Corporation. The building sits on 15 acres adjacent to a residential area just inside Interstate I-285.
