The Jim Thorpe Building, originally constructed in 1938, is an 8-story building that houses several Oklahoma state agencies. Energy upgrades began in 2008 and have resulted in significant energy savings. New motors and building controls allow management to create a more efficient schedule building wide. Lighting upgrades include a T8 retrofit and LED light bulbs are used in all 24/7 lighting applications. Water conservation measures were also implemented including the use of low flow aerators, urinals, and toilets.
Through tenant participation and cooperation with building management, the Department of Central Services is proud to manage the ENERGY STAR labeled Jim Thorpe Building.
