Two Court Square ("LIC2") has been identified as one of the most efficient buildings in the United States by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through its achievement of the prestigious ENERGY STAR for superior energy performance. A relatively new addition to the Long Island City campus and Citi's first Gold LEED-certified building, Two Court Square now joins 388 Greenwich, One Court Square, and Warren in the NY Metro area, along with many other buildings across Citi's Corporate Realty Services (CRS) global portfolio, recognized for their superior energy performance. Two Court Square's energy performance rating of 85 places its energy performance in the top 15 percent among similar buildings nationwide. To qualify as ENERGY STAR, the building has met high standards of energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
Two Court Square opened in the summer of 2007. In 2008, it became Citi's first office building to be certified Gold under the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC's) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.
