The education offered at Richey Elementary School is designed to strengthen students' values and aspirations while providing a strong academic program.  An important facet of Richey's future is to help Red Clay Consolidated School District achieve its goal of providing districtwide K-5 elementary schools while continuing to offer the highest level of academics.  The district, along with administration, faculty, staff, and the community, recently completed a comprehensive evaluation of all of its school facilities to ensure that the district's final recommendations meet the present and future needs of each school.

Renovations for Richey Elementary School included the following items: 1) construction of additional classrooms, a gym, and a multipurpose room, as well as an upgrade to the library facility; 2) renovations to the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems; 3) electrical renovations to support new technological, environmental, and safety systems; 4) plumbing and fire sprinkler upgrades to meet current codes; and 5) repair or replacement of doors, the roof, and ceilings, as well as other miscellaneous improvements.  . 

ENERGY STAR Guidelines for Energy Management were followed throughout the design and purchasing for these major capital projects.  Data compiled through Portfolio Manager and its subsequent reports help the school ensure that these improvements maximize the use of its energy resources.
