Building H, a Class-A office building, is one of nine facilities located on the FedEx Express World Headquarters (WHQ) campus. The campus is in the southeast corner of Memphis, adjacent to the Tournament Players Club golf course at Southwind, which hosts the annual FedEx St. Jude Classic. Many buildings, including Building H, have views of the course.

The WHQ campus was originally designed to bring together employees who had previously been scattered throughout the city in Class-B office buildings into one Class-A office campus with all the amenities that employees desired. This move allowed FedEx Express to improve communication, enhance productivity, and improve employee morale. FedEx is an industry leader in energy efficiency, and the campus design and management practices allow building operators to use ENERGY STAR in day-to-day operations.

The entire WHQ campus received the prestigious LEED Gold Existing Building Operations & Maintenance Award in 2011. This award acknowledges a facility's ability to achieve high performance as well as healthful and environmentally sound practices. Some examples of these practices include a large-scale recycling program, a purchasing policy that includes ENERGY STAR certified office equipment, reduced water usage due to the installation of low-flow aerators on all restroom sinks and flush valves utilizing water efficient flush assemblies on all toilets, designated smoking areas located away from the buildings, installation of high efficiency air filters in all air handling equipment, maximized use of outside air to lower the load on the heating and cooling systems, and environmentally friendly landscape and exterior building practices.

Building H's sustainability features and amenities include workstations located near windows to provide natural light, conference rooms on every floor, traditional break rooms supplemented with coffee bars on each floor, and a 1.5-mile exterior lighted walking/jogging trail. The building has a green cleaning policy, energy-efficient T-8 fluorescent and metal halide lamps, a Watt Stopper lighting control system which operates both the indoor and outdoor lights, and a fully integrated energy management system.
