Qualified Product Information (QPI)

To qualify a new product, contact an EPA-recognized Certification Body (CB) to have the product's performance certified. A list of EPA-recognized CBs, as well as an overview of EPA's third-party certification procedures, is available at www.energystar.gov/3rdpartycert.

Prior to January 1, 2011, product data was submitted to EPA through either a Qualified Product Information (QPI) form, or the Online Product Submittal tool. Additionally, on March 30, 2010, EPA announced the acceleration of new qualification requirements by requiring a lab report and lab report cover sheet. The most recent QPI forms used prior to the launch of third-party certification requirements are provided below for historical reference.
