Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR!Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR is a national campaign from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) encouraging all Americans to join with millions of others in taking small steps that make a big difference in protecting the climate.
The campaign focuses on changes individuals can make at home and in their communities with ENERGY STAR certified products and energy-efficient practices that will save energy, save money, and help prevent climate change.
If you are interested in engaging youth and families in your outreach, Team ENERGY STAR is the perfect tool to educate both parents and their children about saving energy and preventing climate change.
In 2013, EPA is working with PTO Today to engage young people across the country in protecting the climate as members of Team ENERGY STAR. By joining the team at energystar.gov/team, young people will get fun and educational resources to help them bring the energy saving message home to their friends and families. PTO Today is even bringing in the characters from the new animated youth film EPIC to make Team ENERGY STAR even better than ever!
ENERGY STAR partners host energy efficiency education events that attract the whole family and incorporating Team ENERGY STAR is a great way to engage both kids and adults. EPA even offers event materials to help our partners as they sign up participants to become members of the team. See section 2. B. for a list of event materials and instructions on how to order. Partners can sign families up using their online pledge page, the paper pledge or a Team ENERGY STAR sign-up sheet.
As part of Team ENERGY STAR young people get access to fun and educational energy saving activities on energystar.gov/team, and get a chance to share their energy saving stories online. The best stories will be featured on energystar.gov and on ENERGY STAR’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
