Use the new certification graphic with roll-over text describing ENERGY STAR to identify all ENERGY STAR qualified products where product features are listed on your Web site for customers. Add the new graphic proximate to ENERGY STAR qualified product images or descriptions.

Use standardized product specification language: “ENERGY STAR qualified” as part of all product criteria.
Partners should include the words “ENERGY STAR qualified” in all descriptions of qualified products provided to retailer/reseller Web sites, e-tailers, and/or shopping comparison sites, to ensure that ENERGY STAR qualified products can be identified as qualified products by consumers on the Internet.

Web content, in accordance with the web linking policy, is required in order for ENERGY STAR to link to a partner Web page.
For partners that have search engines on their Web sites, EPA and DOE recommend that you make ENERGY STAR a searchable feature. This will address customers’ interest in energy savings by leading them to ENERGY STAR qualified products and information when searching on key words. Suggested key search words include:
Once your dedicated ENERGY STAR educational page has been developed, it is recommended that there be a link to that page from all relevant pages including the home page and relevant product-category pages.

If you cannot feature the graphic on your home page, we recommend that you include a link in the navigation by featuring the words “ENERGY STAR Products.”
For partners who sell products online, it is recommended that an ENERGY STAR “Thank You” message be shared with customers post purchase. The thank you message recognizes the customer for their contribution to the environment through his/her purchase of an ENERGY STAR qualified product and work to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
