Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company, and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California teamed up to sponsor a Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Campaign event at the Los Angeles County Fair. EPA's Exhibit House was featured as part of the "Going Green" exhibit, which provided visitors a chance to learn energy-efficient practices through multiple sponsors, vendors, and educational interactive displays. The Los Angeles County Fair is the largest county fair in the U.S. and hosts more than a million visitors each year. The fair provides the surrounding communities a gathering place where people learn about California's heritage and enjoy traditional fair food, activities, and entertainment. As part of the Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Campaign Tour, Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company, and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California supported the PEAK Program and Pomona County branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs to conduct a home energy check up and scavenger hunt for energy-efficient tips.
The Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Tour could not happen without sponsor support. Working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR program, these sponsors made this tour possible by providing key elements, including components of the traveling interactive Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Exhibit House and local event hosting and coordination.
