New Resources Available for Sponsors and Participating Contractors!

The Home Performance with ENERGY STAR team recently added several new resources to help participants promote and deliver Home Performance with ENERGY STAR (HPwES).

NEW resources include:

  • Promotional video – This short video helps you explain the value of HPwES to your customers.
  • Business form templates – Lead qualification, test-in and test-out forms, and a concise summary report.
  • New business tools and information – An Air Sealing Pricing Report and a utility bill disaggregation tool to help you enhance your home performance contracting services.
  • Enhanced marketing toolkit features – Upload your company name and logo to make customized ENERGY STAR branded brochures, ads, and fact sheets. New enhancements allow you to use your own background images.
  • Downloadable house graphics – Help your customers visualize the common problems found in many homes and how the services you provide can solve them.

Visit the marketing resources web page for a more detailed description of these resources, or sign into My ENERGY STAR Account (MESA) to access these materials and more! If you do not currently have access to MESA, please contact your local Sponsor to request access. Sponsors can request access by contacting

Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR Campaign

Join the campaign and distinguish your organization as an energy-efficient and environmental leader. In 2009, consider becoming a pledge driver and help educate consumers on how they can save money and protect the environment with ENERGY STAR. The ENERGY STAR Pledge includes everyday actions, such as changing a light to one that has earned the ENERGY STAR, enabling computers to power down when not in use, having heating and cooling equipment tuned-up by a professional, and sealing and insulating the home envelope. Pledgers are also encouraged to find out if Home Performance with ENERGY STAR is available in their area.

Visit the Change the World web page to get more information about how the campaign can expand your current marketing efforts, or contact Melissa Klein at

Tax Credits

The passage of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 has brought changes to the energy efficiency tax credits available. A detailed and updated list of these tax credits can be found at ENERGY STAR’s Federal Tax Credits for Energy Efficiency. Start using tax credits in your sales presentation today!

Friendly Reminder! - Come join us for the National Symposium and stay for the ACI Conference

The National Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Symposium will be held on April 27 in Kansas City, MO (8:30am to 4:30pm) and provides a unique opportunity for Home Performance sponsors, contractors, and others to exchange ideas, promote best practices, and improve delivery of services. Come join us at the ACI conference to get a jump-start on what will surely be an exciting and dynamic year for energy efficiency programs! As we’ve done in the past, we will have an “HPwES 101” session on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30pm for those who are just getting started with HPwES.
