Save Up to $3,200 on Taxes and More with Utility Rebates on Energy Efficient Upgrades
Through 2032, federal income tax credits are available to homeowners through the Inflation Reduction Act, that cover 30% of the cost, up to $3,200 per year, to help make these energy efficient home upgrades more affordable and accessible. Combine these with utility rebates available in many areas and save even more.
The ENERGY STAR program’s Home Savings tool is your one-stop-shop for finding incentives, buying guidance, information on eligible products and links to local retailers and installers, to help you plan the upgrades that make the most sense for your home.
Many products eligible for incentives are featured as part of an ENERGY STAR Home Upgrade. These six high-impact home improvements will save energy and money and make your home healthier and more comfortable. You can choose the improvements that make the most sense for your home and implement them at your own pace. Here are some of the specific upgrades recommended by ENERGY STAR:
Clean Heating & Cooling
ENERGY STAR Certified Heat Pump HVAC uses super-efficient electric heat pump technology that heats and cools your home through one system that does it all. Because it doesn’t involve burning fossil fuels, it’s safer and healthier and helps reduce air pollution.
Super-Efficient Water Heating
ENERGY STAR Certified Heat Pump Water Heaters use electric heat pump technology by taking heat from surrounding air and transferring it to the water in an enclosed tank to heat it. So, it's not only super-efficient, but it reduces the humidity of your garage or basement.
Save More with Additional ENERGY STAR Product Rebates & Income Eligible Programs and Services
In addition to rebates on efficient electric products, like Heat Pump HVAC and Heat Pump Water Heaters, many other ENERGY STAR certified products qualify for utility rebates. Get a complete list of available rebates from your local utility to start your energy-saving home improvements.
Many local utilities provide special assistance to their income-eligible customers. See our list of utilities that have programs available. If you do not see your utility listed, contact them directly to see how you can access these services.
Find out if you qualify for other federal programs and services available to support income-eligible households that either need help paying energy bills or live in older homes that are not well-insulated or energy-efficient.
