Isaac Home Energy Performance was created five years ago when Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning saw an opportunity to expand into the entire home. They knew that a home’s heating and AC would perform at its best when assessed with a more holistic view. This perspective combined with the Isaac technical training and professional growth programs have proved very successful. Their employees participate in development programs that set them apart from the competition. All Isaac Home Energy Performance staff members attend “Isaac University”, a four year program where staff can choose a curriculum based on their personal goals. DeLeo explains, “We have a professional teacher as well as field experts who share the training duties. The classes range from soft skills and leadership to gas furnaces and commercial chillers.” Classes take place in the field, in dedicated classrooms, and in a lab with 30 pieces of equipment for hands-on learning.
The company also runs a successful mentoring program, “Lean on Me”, where new employees are paired with experienced counterparts for acclimatization, encouragement, and feedback while they learn the ropes. Working with a partner gives new employees the opportunity to ask questions and correct mistakes before the project is completed. This is an effective method of ensuring that even the newest hires produce excellent work. Isaac Home Energy Performance’s skills training is yielding quantifiable results with improved technical and sales proficiency and reduced employee turnover.
