Washington Gas (WGL), a natural gas utility, helped its Maryland and Virginia customers upgrade to ENERGY STAR® certified products in new and existing homes, issuing rebates for more than 11,000 ENERGY STAR certified furnaces, water heaters and smart thermostats. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

• Partnering with home builders, developers, and trade professionals in Maryland to provide incentives to homebuyers for ENERGY STAR certified natural gas equipment.
• Driving more than 318,000 users to its primary source for ENERGY STAR certified rebate information and increasing the site’s accessibility for non-English speaking customers by installing a language translation tool, which saw 4,700 users shortly after its launch.
• Continuing its efforts to promote ENERGY STAR certified commercial food service equipment to its Maryland business customers while extending a similar new offering to its Virginia customers.
