Washington Gas is a natural gas utility. Washington Gas collaborated with other utilities participating in the EmPower Maryland program to save residential customers more than 140,000 therms and commercial customers more than 260,000 therms with ENERGY STAR® certified products. Key 2022 accomplishments include:

  •  Achieving its commercial and industrial program savings goal, largely through incentives on ENERGY STAR certified fryers and other food service equipment and raising incentives for a limited time on ENERGY STAR certified equipment for qualifying small business and opportunity zone customers.
  •  Providing incentives to facilitate the installation of more than 7,200 ENERGY STAR certified furnaces, water heaters, boilers, dryers, and smart thermostats in new and existing homes.
  •  Implementing a strategic marketing campaign and builder-focused education program emphasizing the benefits of building with ENERGY STAR certified products, yielding more than 5 million impressions.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
