Verizon is a telecommunications company. Verizon has maintained its strong corporate commitment to sustainability, continuing use of ENERGY STAR® tools and resources to promote energy efficiency and setting portfolio-wide goals for carbon reduction. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Increasing the average ENERGY STAR score and reducing its source energy use intensity by 2.9% across 1,378 properties since 2022.
  • Certifying seven stores and two data centers as ENERGY STAR.
  • Directing $67 million to fund decarbonization projects, including building performance improvements, electrification, heat recovery, and smart building controls.
  • Changing its policy of certifying eligible retail space as ENERGY STAR from every 2 years to every year.
  • Installing 2.4 MW of on-site solar for a total generation capacity of 16.3 MW across 14 properties, helping to meet its goal of sourcing 50% carbon-free power by 2025.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
