Key 2023 accomplishments include:

• Achieving ENERGY STAR certification for 69 buildings.
• Aligning with Principal Financial Group’s net zero goal by committing to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 or sooner.
• Integrating energy assessments into annual physical property inspections, enabling implementation of efficiency changes and incorporation into annual budget processes.
• Creating and implementing environmental, social, and governance property audits, entailing visits to individual assets to ensure the implementation of energy efficiency measures, benchmarking in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager®, ENERGY STAR certifications, and tenant engagement initiatives.
• Advancing decarbonization through its Carbon Action process, including conducting renewable energy feasibility studies and green power procurement analyses.
