PPL Electric Utilities

PPL Electric Utilities is an electric utility in Pennsylvania. In the past year, PPL effectively leveraged the ENERGY STAR® brand and certifications to encourage residential customers to upgrade energy intensive heating, cooling, and water heating systems. Key 2022 accomplishments include: 

•  Launching a midstream instant discount program for ENERGY STAR certified heating and cooling products, which will eliminate the need for customers and contractors to complete post installation rebate applications. 
•  Providing bonus incentives to customers who complete more than one home upgrade and leveraging the ENERGY STAR Home Upgrade to explain the benefits of these improvements.
•  Generating 8 million consumer impressions through its participation in ENERGY STAR heating and cooling campaigns, which used multiple tactics including email, search and display ads, and blog articles. 
•  Optimizing paid digital campaigns with responsive ad content, comparative testing of ad creative, and enhanced segmentation and targeting so that the most effective, relevant messages reached customers. 
•  Leveraging ENERGY STAR Flip your Fridge and community events to encourage customers to properly recycle refrigerators, freezers, and small appliances, resulting in 14,000 units recycled and savings of 9.5 million kWh.
