Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco) is an electric utility in Maryland. Pepco has created value for customers by incorporating ENERGY STAR® across its portfolio of commercial, industrial, residential, and products programs for over a decade, providing customers over $60 million in incentives and resulting in over 630,000 MWh of energy savings. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Providing business customers with the Energy Usage Data System service to export aggregate, whole-building energy data to ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager® and import building performance metrics.
  • Developing a unique series of training videos that promote ENERGY STAR qualified products for distributors participating in the Business Instant Discounts program.
  • Leveraging the ENERGY STAR Retail Products Platform program model to offer instant markdown rebates on ENERGY STAR certified room air conditioners, clothes washers, clothes dryers, refrigerators, and freezers, and offering a midstream rebate at heat pump water heater distributor locations.
  • Supporting the construction of nearly 800 ENERGY STAR certified homes and apartments, an increase of 38% compared with 2022, and incentivizing the installation of ENERGY STAR certified heat pumps and heat pump water heaters in ENERGY STAR multifamily projects.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
