Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. logos

Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. is a gas and electric utility in New York. Orange and Rockland made it easier to purchase ENERGY STAR® certified heat pump water heaters by adding new pathways for customers to access discounts at point of sale—a distributor midstream and a retailer coupon pathway. As a result, the program is projected to save customers more than 700 MMBtu, more than doubling the savings achieved in 2022. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Promoting the sale of more than 3,000 ENERGY STAR certified appliances with estimated energy savings of more than 600 MWh.
  • Conducting more than 700 store visits to provide point-of-purchase marketing materials for ENERGY STAR products promoted through its programs.
  • Launching a midstream program for ENERGY STAR certified commercial food service equipment, including dishwashers, fryers, ovens, and steamers, to provide customers access to instant rebates through participating contractors.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
