A. O. Smith Corporation is a manufacturer of water heating and water treatment products. A. O. Smith stood out for its promotion of ENERGY STAR® certified products to professional and consumer audiences through social media, trade publications, and trade press, generating more than 8.5 million impressions across platforms. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Launching a new website design that highlights ENERGY STAR products for homeowner and trade professional audiences and features a new heat pump water heater product page banner to further promote the latest innovations in energy efficiency.
  • Placing advertisements in USA Today’s print and digital magazines that received more than 2.5 million impressions and underscored the energy saving benefits of its ENERGY STAR certified Voltex AL heat pump water heater.
  • Updating its retail set at Lowe’s to include additional information for consumers on the benefits of ENERGY STAR certified heat pump water heaters and tankless water heaters.
  • Investing more than $250,000 into marketing ENERGY STAR certified heat pump water heaters to support trade advertising, sales tools, promotions, case study generation, social content, earned media outreach, video production, and more.
  • Creating and widely distributing flyers to educate contractors and consumers on the benefits of ENERGY STAR water heaters and associated federal and utility incentives.
  • Participating in 20 ENERGY STAR Manufacturer Action Council (ESMAC) training webinars facilitated by ENERGY STAR and Clean TECH California.
  • Supporting ESMAC’s efforts to provide bimonthly trainings and informational sessions to utilities, contractors, builders, and distributors about the many benefits and advantages of ENERGY STAR certified heat pump water heaters.
