Northwood is a commercial real estate firm. Northwood has maintained its longstanding commitment to energy conservation across its portfolio and leverages ENERGY STAR® tools and resources to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Achieving ENERGY STAR certification for 67 properties.
  • Maintaining a portfolio average ENERGY STAR score of 85.
  • Working with its service providers to develop decarbonization strategies for several properties, including identification of energy conservation and carbon reduction measures and opportunities for the use of renewable energy sources.
  • Building ENERGY STAR Tenant Space requirements into each tenant outfitting session, ensuring that all tenants are acquainted with the process and requirements for recognition.
  • Promoting ENERGY STAR to tenants through digital lobby screens, ENERGY STAR decals at entrances, its quarterly magazine, its goBallantyne app, leasing materials, press releases, and announcements.
  • Developing educational campaigns to educate new employees, as well as existing property teams, on the importance of ENERGY STAR and benchmarking and how it pertains to their roles.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
