2015 ENERGY STAR Day Recap

The 2015 ENERGY STAR Day celebrations were bigger and better than ever! EPA and ENERGY STAR partners came together to help people save energy and protect the climate. See a few of the awesome ways our partners celebrated ENERGY STAR Day this year:

LG Electronics USA

Following this year's ENERGY STAR Partner Meeting, LG Electronics provided the ENERGY STAR certified refrigerator, washer, and dryer showcased at the meeting to the nearby Ronald McDonald House in Portland, Oregon. With nearly 100 families checking into the house every month, the appliances will get a lot of use while helping the Ronald McDonald House save energy!

Philips Lighting

Every Monday this October, Philips Lighting invited its employees to bring in their old incandescent bulbs and swap them for free ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs! Employees were encouraged to make a commitment to saving energy and protecting the environment by taking the ENERGY STAR Pledge!

At a live streaming event hosted by EPA, Discovery Education, and DIRECTV, Administrator Gina McCarthy invited local school children to her EPA office in Washington, D.C. to talk about what they can do to prevent further climate change by saving energy. You can watch the virtual event here:
