New Mexico Gas Company (NMGC) is a natural gas utility serving multiple counties in the state. The utility’s energy efficiency programs continued to expand by promoting ENERGY STAR® certified homes and products to customers across its service territory. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Supporting the construction of nearly 90 ENERGY STAR certified homes, a 112% increase since 2022, while doubling the number of participating ENERGY STAR builders in its program during the same period.
  • Holding more than 130 meetings and training sessions with builders, home energy rating companies, and other program stakeholders to share updates on ENERGY STAR program requirements.
  • Providing weatherization and retrofit assistance that delivered ENERGY STAR certified windows and furnaces to more than 300 low-income and vulnerable households through its New Mexico Energy$mart Weatherization Program.
  • Saving residential customers nearly 450,000 therms of energy per year through the installation of ENERGY STAR certified heating and water heating products, as well as attic insulation.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
