Memorial Hermann Health System is a not-for-profit healthcare system. Memorial Hermann has continued to leverage ENERGY STAR® resources to drive energy savings, contributing to a 30.9% energy reduction since 2008. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Certifying 18 buildings as ENERGY STAR, including 11 hospitals.
  • Establishing a capital fund of $26 million for energy efficiency upgrades throughout its portfolio.
  • Reducing natural gas consumption by more than 57% across its portfolio.
  • Installing electric vehicle charging stations at each of its 14 hospital campuses.
  • Promoting ENERGY STAR competitions, such as the Ninth Texas Energy Roundup, a co-branded ENERGY STAR competition that helps hospitals across the state reduce energy use.
