El Paso Electric is a regional electric utility providing service to customers in Texas and New Mexico. The utility supported the construction of more than 90 ENERGY STAR® certified homes, an increase of 45% year-over-year, for a total exceeding 1,000 since joining the program. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Increasing builder participation in the ENERGY STAR program in its service territory by 10% since 2022.
  • Promoting the benefits of ENERGY STAR certified homes on its corporate website, resulting in more than 43,000 page views and nearly 22,000 new visitors, representing increases of 33% and 50%, respectively, compared with 2022.
  • Conducting more than 70 meetings with home builders and their teams to educate them about updates to ENERGY STAR program requirements and continuing to provide support to energy rating companies in their service territory.
  • Delivering more than 466,000 kWh savings, increasing the program’s cumulative kWh savings by 4% since 2022.
  • Providing additional incentives for ENERGY STAR certified residential products, such as smart thermostats, and developing a new training session on heat pump water heaters for program participants.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
