Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S.

The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) is a trade association representing producers, marketers, importers and exporters of distilled spirits. DISCUS is recognized for continued advancement of ENERGY STAR resources and energy efficiency within the U.S. distilled spirits industry, including informing distilleries of the opportunity to recognize their high-performing facilities with ENERGY STAR certification. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Promoting ENERGY STAR distillery certification through social media posts, newsletters, press releases, and industry conferences.
  • Engaging distilleries and state distillery guilds in reviewing ENERGY STAR tools.
  • Increasing ENERGY STAR visibility in trade publications.
  • Partnering with ENERGY STAR to host educational webinars for distilleries to advance the value of benchmarking energy performance throughout the industry.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
