Copeland, a smart thermostat vendor, achieved an 11% year over year increase in sales dollars from ENERGY STAR® certified smart thermostats, driven by a 20% increase in certified product models. Key 2023 accomplishments include:

  • Saving half a terawatt-hour of energy every year through energy saving features and participation in demand response programs involving more than 1.1 million connected Sensi thermostats to date. This equates to a reduction of more than 125,000 metric tons of CO2 during the past year.
  • Releasing two customer email blogs that specifically refer to ENERGY STAR: one highlighting its partnership as part of its environmental, social, and governance work and another driving traffic to EnergyStar.gov for information on HVAC efficiency and tips for hiring a contractor.
  • Promoting ENERGY STAR certified products at more than 1,300 events and online training sessions for contractors and distributors.
  • Highlighting ENERGY STAR certification for the contractors participating in its partner lead generation program.
  • Incorporating the ENERGY STAR mark in the images of every certified Sensi product across the retail spectrum.
In 2020 ENERGY STAR and its partners helped Americans avoid more than $40 Billion in energy costs
