Mandalay Homes, a regional home builder, constructed over 100 ENERGY STAR® certified homes in 2022, for a total of nearly 1,300 since joining the program in 2013. Key 2022 accomplishments include:
- Including ENERGY STAR educational materials in construction progress updates sent to all homebuyers during the building process to remind them about the value of ENERGY STAR home certification.
- Promoting ENERGY STAR achievements on websites, social media, and customer communications before and after the sale, including weekly check-in communication with customers.
- Conducting ongoing training for all sales teams, pre-sales home advisors, and construction management partners to ensure understanding of the benefits of ENERGY STAR certification and its contribution to whole-house performance.
- Engaging frequently with other builders and industry professionals to share knowledge and experiences in building ENERGY STAR certified homes, including sharing data with local utilities to optimize rate plans for high-performance homes.
- Switching to high-efficiency variable speed mechanical systems and all electric appliances in its pursuit of building carbon-neutral homes.
