DC Sustainable Energy Utility is an energy efficiency and renewable energy programs implementor in Washington, DC. In 2022, the utility initiated multiple unique strategies and programs incorporating ENERGY STAR® to help residents experiencing low incomes save energy. Key 2022 accomplishments include:
- Launching an HVAC replacement program to help income-qualified, single-family residents decarbonize their homes with ENERGY STAR certified heat pumps and heat pump water heaters.
- Promoting a wide range of ENERGY STAR certified products including dehumidifiers, refrigerators, washers, and dryers, heat pump water heaters, and heat pumps through direct-to-consumer and supply channel rebates.
- Launching with the DC Department of Energy and Environment and the DC Green Bank the country’s first affordable housing retrofit accelerator program using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager® data.
- Utilizing ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager across its commercial and industrial program offerings.
