Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence - Energy Efficiency Program Delivery
CenterPoint Energy is a transmission and distribution utility serving the greater Houston area. In 2022, the utility incentivized the construction of nearly 3,500 ENERGY STAR® certified homes, for a total exceeding 118,000 homes since joining the program in 2001, and saving more than 479,000 megawatt-hours of energy since the program’s inception. Key 2022 accomplishments include:
- Implementing a comprehensive ENERGY STAR promotional campaign with multiple tactics resulting in a 21% more efficient average cost-per-click compared to 2021 and delivering more than 1.3 million impressions.
- Updating its program website to provide an improved user experience and better highlight the benefits of ENERGY STAR certified homes and promoting energy efficiency.
- Significantly increasing ENERGY STAR focused e-mail campaigns, delivering above-average industry performance in open rates (23%) while segmenting and tailoring messaging based on age range and other demographic factors.
- Educating industry stakeholders through the Greater Houston Builders Association with virtual seminars and forums on better building practices, International Energy Conservation Code changes, and ENERGY STAR program updates.
