BOMA International

BOMA International is a trade association for commercial real estate professionals. BOMA maintained its leadership in promoting ENERGY STAR® resources to the real estate industry and developed new initiatives to help members meet sustainability objectives and decarbonization goals. Key 2022 accomplishments include: 

•  Continuing to lead the industry in encouraging energy, water, and waste benchmarking, promoting ENERGY STAR resources to the real estate industry, and championing ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager® as its platform for market transformation initiatives.
•  Launching a new multi-faceted program aimed at providing the global built environment with the tools needed to implement carbon reduction strategies that improve building performance, provide pathways to demonstrate building emission reductions, and ensure economic viability. 
•  Promoting the new ENERGY STAR Building Emissions Calculator tool to the BOMA membership, including recruiting volunteers to test the tool, announcing the full launch of the calculator in an e-newsletter, highlighting the calculator at the BOMA annual conference, and featuring the calculator in its new Carbon Reduction Resource Center. 
•  Promoting the updated ENERGY STAR score for medical office buildings, which included an e-newsletter previewing the update prior to launch and hosting a webinar to further explore the score updates post-launch. 
•  Prominently featuring and promoting ENERGY STAR in speeches, vlogs, BOMA Magazine, e-newsletters, webinars, and social media, reaching tens of thousands of commercial real estate practitioners.
