Appalachian Power Company

Appalachian Power Company is an electric utility in Virginia and West Virginia. Through expanded marketing, training, and a re-launch of its Virginia programs, it achieved more than a 300% increase in energy savings compared to 2021. Key 2022 accomplishments include:

•  Saving more than 14 million kWh through its efficient products program that sold more than 3,000 ENERGY STAR® certified appliances and 92,000 weather stripping and insulation products, while providing incentives for a wide array of ENERGY STAR certified products ranging from air cleaners to clothes dryers to larger appliances, including central air conditioners and heat pump water heaters. 
•  Relaunching its ENERGY STAR appliances and lighting program in 153 Virginia retail locations as well as via an online marketplace and continuing its partnerships with 83 retail locations in West Virginia, and distributing more than 2,000 pieces of ENERGY STAR branded collateral at these retail locations and via community events to highlight its programs to customers.
•  Leveraging ENERGY STAR promotions including Laundry Made Better, ENERGY STAR Day, and Flip Your Fridge and highlighting ENERGY STAR content, including the ENERGY STAR Home Upgrade tool on its website.
•  Offering two efficient electrification programs, a rebate program for ENERGY STAR certified electric vehicle chargers, and a program to help West Virginia customers who use non-regulated fuels to heat their homes to switch to high-efficiency electric heat pumps.
